I teach English Literature at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and specialize in transatlantic literatures and rhetorical cultures since the early nineteenth century. I am currently working on a book project on invisible literary characters. My first book on The Figures of Edgar Allan Poe came out in 2017 and my work has also appeared in such venues as Forum for Modern Language Studies, Scholarly Editing, Journal for the Study of British Cultures, and Anglistik.
